Join the American Heart Association for an informational session Sept. 5 to learn how to get involved in a new effort aimed at improving heart health screenings and referrals in the dental office.
The Healthy Smiles, Healthy Hearts initiative hopes to engage oral health care professionals to create a new standard of care for heart health screenings in their practices, with a focus on blood pressure screenings and referrals to primary care. It also focuses on educating clinicians and patients on the link between cardiovascular health and oral health.
The informational session will take place at 11 a.m. CDT. It will provide dentists with an overview of the initiative, benefits of participation and next steps.
