LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 12, 2016) – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge today announced the conviction of a Crittenden County woman for Medicaid fraud. Lacasha Perry pleaded guilty in Pulaski County District Court. Perry will pay a fine of $2,916. She was also ordered to pay $972 in restitution to the Arkansas Medicaid Program Trust Fund.
“Medicaid is a critical safety net for some of our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “I will ensure that those people attempting to defraud Arkansans are held accountable, and investigators and attorneys from the Attorney General’s office will continue to work tirelessly to investigate and prosecute those who commit Medicaid fraud.”
Perry, 36, of West Memphis was arrested by agents of the Attorney General’s office in March. She pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud, a Class A misdemeanor. Perry billed the Arkansas Medicaid Program for services that were not rendered.
