Lee College’s Center for Workforce and Community Development will host two free health care fraud prevention seminars on Feb. 28.
“We’re excited to offer both a morning and evening presentation to the public. It’s an important topic, and we want to help educate seniors so they’re better able to prevent people from taking advantage of them,” Senior Adult and Travel Program Manager Lynne Foley said.
The group presenting the seminar, Texas Senior Medical Patrol, is a program of the Better Business Bureau Education Foundation. Texas SMP is dedicated to identifying health care fraud, educating the public and facilitating programs that prevent it.
“If we take a little time to understand what to look for, we can really make a difference. Texas SMP’s presentation will help us understand the signs of fraud, and our role in helping detect and prevent it.
