AUSTIN — Now that House Speaker Joe Straus and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, the presiding officer of the Senate, have made their respective committee appointments, the heavy lifting begins in the Texas Legislature.For Rep. Four Price and his colleagues in the Sunset Advisory Commission — a joint legislative panel that every two years evaluates the performance of about two dozen state agencies — this includes recommending to the Legislature the consolidation of the state’s Health and Human Services Commission and four smaller agencies it oversees.
