Detroit dentist charged in Medicaid fraud scheme arrested in Caribbean

LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) – A Macomb County dentist facing over two dozen charges in a Medicaid fraud scheme was arrested last week in the Dominican Republic, according to Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette.

David Johnson, 51, is facing 27 separate felony charges in relation to the scheme operated through Livernois Dental in Detroit.

Since the charges were issued, he has been moving outside of the country until U.S. Marshals caught up with him last week.
