The FBI is now investigating the multimillion-dollar, no-bid deal brokered by officials at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, whose chief is facing increasing pressure from lawmakers who want answers. And Gov.-elect Greg Abbott has assembled a special “strike force” to look into the state health agency.
“I’ve been told that the FBI is investigating,” state Rep. Garnet Coleman, D-Houston, told the American-Statesman on Wednesday.
