Former employees of California dental office allegedly filed 27 fraudulent insurance claims

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Two former employees of Landmark Dental are being investigated by the California Department of Insurance (CDI) Fraud Division for allegedly filing 27 false insurance claims, according to court documents.

According to a search warrant, on July 5, the CDI received a claim from American Family Life Assurance Company (Aflac) that was suspected to be fraud. The warrant states that the suspect, who worked for Landmark Dental at the time of the claims, allegedly filed 23 dental insurance claims to Aflac for services not received by herself and her dependent son. The claimed services were allegedly performed at Landmark Dental and were filed between May 9, 2016 and October 18, 2017.
