AUSTIN — Two former directors at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, including the wife of state Rep. Joe Pickett, D-El Paso, are suing the agency for wrongful termination.
In a lawsuit filed in Travis County District Court, Shannon Pickett and Dimitria Pope said they were fired in October, weeks after reporting alleged violations of the law regulating the transportation of minors to the agency’s Office of Inspector General and the Texas attorney general’s office.
