A Nampa home health care service operator has been ordered to reimburse the state, perform 40 hours of community service and pay court costs and fines after pleading guilty to Medicaid fraud.
The Idaho Attorney General’s office says 66-year-old Cline Waddell of Assisting Hands Home Care had pled guilty to provider fraud and was sentenced today in Third District Court. Prosecutors said Waddell was aware that his office manager had billed Medicaid for hours she didn’t work and allowed the fraudulent claims to be submitted to Idaho. Waddell and his assistant, 68-year-old Linda Heffner have agreed to reimburse Medicaid a total of $12,292. Heffner has been placed on two years probation and ordered to 100 days of community service.
The Idaho AG’s office says by pleading guilty, Hefner admitted that she put her name as a care provider into he company’s computer for providing personal care services to clients when she knew she had not performed those services.
