A Mechanicsville dentist who defrauded Medicaid and several insurance companies out of $783,000 from 2013 to 2016 was sentenced Friday to 30 months in prison.
In pleading guilty to health care fraud last December, Maryam E. Zarei, 47, of Glen Allen — the owner of Atlee Station Family Dentistry in Mechanicsville — admitted to defrauding Medicaid, as well as companies including Delta Dental, Aetna and MetLife.
