MOUNT VERNON, Mo. — A Mount Vernon dentist pleaded guilty Wednesday to Medicaid fraud in a plea agreement requiring him to repay the program $200,000 and surrender his license to practice dentistry for five years.
Thomas H. Alms Jr., 63, pleaded guilty to the offense in Lawrence County Circuit Court in a plea agreement with the Missouri attorney general’s office. In accordance with terms of the plea deal, Circuit Judge Jack Goodman placed the defendant on probation for five years.
Alms, who operated a dental clinic in Mount Vernon, had been facing three counts of Medicaid fraud and a single count of obstructing a health care fraud investigation.
