AUSTIN – Health and Human Services Executive Commissioner Charles Smith announced today Stephanie Muth will be the next State Medicaid director. She will oversee the Medicaid/CHIP Services division, which is the hub for the Texas Medicaid program. She will begin her new role on Nov. 27.
“Stephanie is an innovative leader in the human services arena who will continue to transform the state’s Medicaid program,” Commissioner Smith said. “Stephanie is a true public servant who will ensure the state Medicaid program keeps Texans healthy and at the same time is responsible with Texas tax dollars. She has managed major procurements, improved contract oversight and earned a reputation for operational excellence. In this new position, Stephanie will build on her record of results.”
