NY man pleads to bilking Medicaid from jail cell

A man pleaded guilty Wednesday to Medicaid fraud after being charged with orchestrating a kickback scheme from his jail cell.David Epps, 44, who had been in the Monroe County Jail on an unrelated charge, was sentenced to six months, according to the office of Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman. Epps also will have to pay back $2,128 to the Medicaid Fraud Restitution Fund.Epps had been charged with one count of felony third-degree grand larceny and 28 counts of felony first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. He pleaded to guilty to one count of petit larceny.
