SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) – From self-driving cars to AI-powered kitchens, the Bay Area now has Yomi, the first FDA-approved dental robot nationwide.
Dr. Dalvir S. Pannu, owner of Pannu Dental Group in San Jose, is the first dentist in the Bay Area to incorporate dental robot technology. The Yomi is a new component of his treatment plan for patients.
Neocis Inc, the creator of the technology, claims that the Yomi dental robot system not only helps a dentist like Pannu save time, it is also safer.
“The Yomi Robot Dental System helps eliminate the guesswork and shows the exact depth, cutting position and needed angles required to achieve optimal results, in turn making it minimally invasive,” Pannu told KRON4.
Yomi guides dental surgeons as they conduct implant procedures, which are performed about 4 million times annually in the US alone. Implant procedures normally require several office visits because the affected area needs time to heal before continuing surgery, but with Yomi, Pannu believes he can significantly reduce the number of trips.
