Senator Bill Nelson is in Tampa on Monday calling for a federal investigation into the company responsible for “mismanaging the SunPass toll system.”
Senator Nelson and Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission Chairman, Joseph Simons, asking the agency to take action against Conduent State & Local Solutions for violating the Federal Trade Commission Act, which prohibits unfair and deceptive trade practices.
“Conduent’s pattern of mismanaging cashless toll systems is deeply troubling and warrants further scrutiny,” the senators wrote. “If drivers are being hurt financially, the FTC should hold the company accountable and prevent it from doing further harm.”
