A purchasing official for Child Protective Services has resigned after a state investigation concluded she had a conflict interest when her husband took a job with a nonprofit that had multimillion-dollar contracts with the state.
Patrick Crimmins, spokesman for the Department of Family and Protective Services, said that the state health commissioner accepted Frianita Wilson’s resignation Friday.
Wilson, who was put on leave in March, said that she and her husband have been unfairly targeted by state agency officials and that she followed proper policies and disclosed when her husband, Doug Wilson, began working for the Round Rock-based nonprofit A World For Children, which provides foster care services.
