TDMR has received a statement from the Texas Dental Association about its position on the proposed upcoming cuts to dental reimbursement rates for Medicaid providers.
Statement from TDA President Dr. Joey Cazares
The Texas Dental Association (TDA) already voiced strong opposition to the proposed Medicaid dental fee adjustments and the TDA’s Committee on Access, Medicaid & CHIP continues to work closely with Texas’ Health and Human Services (HHS) officials on alternatives to the proposal. TDA sent an email alert to all member dentists encouraging them to submit comment to HHS identifying the impact the proposed rate adjustments will have on their practice and their ability to provide Medicaid dental services to enrolled children.
TDA submitted detailed written comments to HHS in advance of tomorrow’s hearing and will have a dentist testifying at the hearing itself. Additionally, TDA discussed its concerns with key legislators and legislative leadership.
TDA prioritizes advocating for the best funded and administratively simple Medicaid and CHIP dental programs on behalf of the children of Texas and all individual Medicaid dentists that are TDA members.
