It has been a tumultuous year and we hadn’t really considered putting out our annual DMO satisfaction survey until now.
Not many comments so far this year
New contracts were awarded last October with both MCNA and DentaQuest having their’s renewed and United Healthcare being awarded. We’re not exactly sure when United will be operational so we have queried HHSC about this.
However, we’ve received very few comments from dentists about MCNA and DentaQuest so far this year. This is far from usual but it has been a very unusual year.
Some financial and sanction information available
Looking around the HHSC website, we found a few things that might be of interest. You can access Excel spreadsheets showing the financial reports of both MCNA and DentaQuest from September 1, 2019 to November 30, 2019.
We also found that both companies had received small fines from HHSC regarding contract enforcement actions. HHSC fined MCNA some $46,625 for not responding in a timely manner and accurately to requests from OIG. DentaQuest was fined $7,500 for the same problem.
