Texas patient recruiter sentenced to 9 years in prison for $3.6 million home health-care fraud scheme

A Houston, Texas-area patient recruiter was sentenced to 108 months in prison today for her role in a $3.6 million Medicare fraud scheme involving fraudulent claims for home health services.

Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, US Attorney Ryan K. Patrick of the Southern District of Texas, Special Agent in Charge Perrye K. Turner of the FBI’s Houston Field Office, Special Agent in Charge C.J. Porter of the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General’s (HHS-OIG) Dallas Region, and the Texas Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Unit (MFCU) made the announcement.
