COOKE COUNTY, Texas (KXII) — Sixteen people at a North Texas hospice are charged with ripping off federal taxpayers for $60 million in a Medicare fraud scheme. That includes two people from Cooke County.One is a doctor who still has a clinic in Gainesville. He and a nurse from that same area now face federal charges for their involvement in Novus Health Services out of Frisco.”It’s crazy stuff like that happens here in town,” Brad Brown said.Dr. Mark Gibbs, 46, lives in Lindsay. He worked as a medical director for Novus Health Services, but also works as a family practice doctor at a medical clinic in Gainesville.
