In recent weeks, media outlets have shone a spotlight on the state’s procurement of technology to fight Medicaid fraud, highlighting the need to improve the system. 21CT, an Austin-based IT company with patented fraud-fighting technology, has become embroiled in questions about the Health and Human Services Commission’s Office of Inspector General and Department of Information Resources’ procurement process.As thousands of other vendors have done before us, 21CT responded to and won competitive open bids from the Texas Department of Information Resources. Many technology companies like ours have sold millions of dollars in goods and services to Texas government agencies through the Department of Information Resources system, a long established competitive process for state agencies to purchase technology goods and services.
